Sited in Korea's beautiful natural environs, this exclusive golf resort balances two divergent approaches to the surrounding landscape: being seamlessly part of it, while maintaining a discrete presence. The sensuous curving forms of the main entry and building area is made even more part of the natural surroundings with a large expanse of grass-planted roof. The rust colored office pavilion and orthogonal parking structure with rooftop tennis courts present a contrasting foil to the more organically designed parts of the project. Together with the golf course itself, these differing attitudes toward the landscape - approaches which have existed for millennia - embody a rich and complex interplay between the built and the natural.
